Spirit of Joy Community Lutheran Church is a gathering of believers that is always being made new and, at the same time, is deeply rooted in Scripture. We are a church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. We welcome you to join us regardless of your age, race, gender, life experience, and questions. We are, also, rooted in the vibrant and rich histories of our people. It’s through these roots that the Holy Spirit guides and nourishes us so that we can be a church that is both resilient and always new. You have a unique story that can only add to the richness of the larger story that makes up the Spirit of Joy Community Lutheran Church.
One of the key things that gives our church its sweet spirit is within the community; we welcome people to come as they are, to be encouraged as they grow in their faith. God’s transforming love is what we are about here. And when you come to know that love…when you live more fully in that love you will have the kind of “joy” that truly makes life worth living. Come and experience Joy! There is a place for you here!
Spirit of Joy Community Lutheran Church is a member of the Pacifica Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are also part of the Pacifica Synod, which is our regional jurisdiction. The ELCA is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with almost 5 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations across the United States.

What to Expect:
Our Service is at 10 a.m. and lasts approximately 1 hour. Our congregation spans all ages and backgrounds, and while conservative dress would not stand out, many dress casually. Our service uses contemporary worship along with modern hymn arrangements, and a wonderful live band helps to lift us up each Sunday morning. During services, the pastor will encourage everyone to greet and pass the peace to those around them.
At Spirit of Joy Community Lutheran Church you can expect biblical messages with a solid practical aspect. You will walk away with a modern-day application and feeling encouraged or thoughtful as you grow or explore faith in God. Each service ends with a celebration of communion, and we practice what’s called “open communion,” meaning anyone of any denomination or place in their faith walk is welcome to participate.
Children are always welcome at our services. We, also, have Nursery Care and Joy Kids’ Church during the service available for kids to play and explore their faith in an environment designed just for them!
